Synopsis
He’s come to kill me.

I’m a user and abuser of my own body. In my darkest hour I sold my soul to the devil and now I must pay the price. With his gun to my head I have no choice but to listen and obey, but I refuse to go down easily. Nothing is stronger than the will to survive. My instincts kicked into full gear the second he stepped into my motel room.

Except when I look at him I see my own heart staring back at me. A history tainted by blood.

I don’t know his name, but I know he wants me. To save myself I’ll sacrifice my sanity. My body. My soul. Something tells me the x-shaped scar that marks his eye is the only escape I have. He is Mr. X: the man who comes to claim my life. Can I save myself before he demands my heart?

WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, breath deprivation, strong language, drugs and alcohol, and graphic violence.

Excerpt
She clenches her teeth. “You can’t keep me here …” “Watch me.” I lean against the wall, picking up a lighter and a pack of cigarettes. I’ve been dying for a smoke ever since I found her in that room. “And then what? Is this supposed to scare me?” she says, her hand fisted like she’s trying to resist, even though there is no way out of this. I smile and put down the lighter. “If you think I am doing all this just to scare you, you’re mistaken.” “Then what is the reason, huh? Why are you keeping me prisoner?” She fights the tears in her eyes. I can’t help feel a little overcome with the urge to grab her and kiss her to take away all the hurt. However, I can’t. The past cannot be erased. What we are is set in stone and nothing can chafe away the rugged surface of our souls. I’d be a liar if I said it doesn’t pain me to see her hurt, but I like pain. I live for it. I was reborn in it. I don’t fear it. On the contrary, I survive on it. Pain is a means to an end and her pain is my end. If she stops feeling pain, then so do I, and that would mean the end. It’s too soon. I need her pain to feel alive. And so, I will continue to make her answer for her sins. “A man must do what a man must do,” I say. “A man? How can you call yourself a man? You’re a monster.” The look in her eyes, so in awe of my wickedness, is exhilarating. I smile. “Thank you.” Her jaw drops, a brow rises, and she snarls. It’s amusing to see the mixed emotions scatter on her face. “Are you insane? Why are you thanking me?” “Because I’d rather be a monster than a man in your eyes. Being a monster beats being a wretched human being. You’ve freed me of the burden of having to act sane. So yes, you could say that I am insane.” She just stares at me, her mouth open, but in complete silence, like she’s at a loss for words. “Believe me when I say you are better off with me than out there,” I say. “You’re mad! You wanted to kill me, and now you say I’ll be safe with you?” she scoffs. “I never said you’ll be safe with me. I can get quite dangerous …” A smile quirks up my face. She shivers. Clutching her body, she stampedes toward me. “Let me out.” I grab both her arms, squeezing tight as I hold her back and look down at her. “You don’t want to do that.” “I want anything but staying here with you.” She tries to jerk free, but I keep her close, forcing her to listen. She cannot leave me, because I won’t allow it, but I’ll give her a good reason as well. “Do you think I am the worst thing that could overcome you?” I lean forward and whisper into her ear. “There is more evil out there than you think.” Her breath comes in short gasps, her tits pushing up against me as her chest rises. Courage is making place for fear again, I can feel it on her skin. It’s riveting. She fights me, her arms locking with mine as she attempts to free herself from my grasp, but I twist her in my arms and keep her hands behind her back. Her ass is bumping against my cock, straining it to the limit. God, I love it when she struggles. I never stopped loving it. “Do you think I’m the only one who came for you, huh?” I whisper in her ear. “That I’m the only one who wants you dead?” She shakes her head, and I can feel her heart thrumming through her chest. “Did you see those men that were following us? Can you guess what they wanted?” “Me?” I smirk. “Great deduction. Now, there is a difference between them and me; can you tell me what it is?” It’s quiet for a few seconds. I guess she really hasn’t figured it out yet. “They want your head. I want your body.” She swallows, and it turns me on so much I want to rip off her clothes right now and do her against the door. But I don’t. Taking her would be so easy, it would take all the fun out of it. I want her to offer herself to me willingly. I want to see the regret in her eyes afterwards when she realizes she gave her body to the devil. “But …. I don’t understand. I thought you wanted me dead?” “I did. Now I want more.” She gasps. “Why? What changed?” “I did.”

New Releases This Week

Here are just a few novels that have been released this week so far. There are so many great books this summer that I can't keep up! I'm sure you are all having the same problems as me. TOO MANY BOOKS...TOO LITTLE TIME!

Mr. X by Clarissa Wild - New Release

I have been super excited about this one. I cant wait to read it. Its a dark, thriller, romance but unlike others. Just read the blurb:

"  *Author Note: This is not your average romance story. Some people will kill for love.*

Break the Sky by Nina Lane - New Release on July 29th

A new hot read by the author of the Spiral of Bliss Series, Nina Lane. This is a spin- off novel that sounds super HOT. Bad boy Archer and Atmospheric Scientist Kelsey get together to create their own type of storm...SOUNDS awesome and can't wait to read this one.

Let Me Love You (The Love Series 4) by Megan Smith - New Release

This is the fourth book in The Love Series by Megan Smith. Although this is the first book for Cooper and Jaylinn they have been featured in the previous books in the series. I would recommend reading these in order to avoid any confusion. Some feel this ends with a cliffhanger but other says it isn't much of one but leaves you with knowing there will be more. These have great ratings and I look forward to reading this series. Book 1, Book 2, Book 3.

Ready to Wed by Cindi Madsen - New Release

This looks really good. It's about a girl who writes about love and weddings that gets jilted at her own wedding. Not really a second chance romance but a reconnect with childhood friend who turns HOT. I love these kinds of reads. You know there will be a happy ending, emotional and I even heard there is some laugh out loud moments.

Taken by Lora Leigh - New Release

This is a collection of short stories by one of the best erotica authors out there.  Six different stories in one. Lora Leigh never seems to disappoint in the steam factor. So if your looking for a bunch of short stories that are bound to be sexy sexy...GO FOR IT!!

Uninhibited by Melody Grace - New Release

This is the second book in the Callahan Series and the sixth book in the Beachwood Bay Series. This can be read as a stand alone if wanted but the other books in the series have great ratings so you might want to give them a try as well.  This book sound HOT though..just read this:
"Rock star Dex Callahan swore his days of fame and debauchery were behind him, but the spotlight keeps calling his name. Determined not to fall into his old life, he goes looking for distraction -- and finds an intoxicating red-head with a mouth made for sin. One kiss could never be enough, so Dex offers her a deal: spend one week with him, and she'll forget her old flame ever existed."

Release Blitz - Three Years by Lili St Germain

Synopsis
Every day for six years, I used to pray that I would find my way back to the boy I loved. Until finally, one day, I did. But that’s the funny thing about life. Nothing good ever lasts, not for me, anyway. You think you’re the one with the power, at least I did, but then I got careless. One tiny mistake, and now I am powerless to stop what comes next. People think money equals power, but all the money in my bank account, the dirty notes laundered clean that my father left for me, are useless.
Money does not equal power. Power is held by the one with the knife in his hand, tracing shallow cuts into your skin. Power is held by the one who owns you. I had power once. Now, I have nothing.
Teaser
“I’ve got a surprise for you today,” Dornan says throatily, his mouth quirked into a dark smile, a smile that feeds off my suffering. A smile marked with my blood, his full lips coated in a red sheen. Surprises are bad. I don’t like his surprises. They always hurt me, make me bleed. I don’t even know if I’ve got any blood left in me to bleed for him. I cry softly as I remember the last words he spoke to me, in his office before he pressed the rag to my face and held it there until the noxious fumes in the material stole my consciousness. “I know you think this is going to be bad,” he had said, his grip against my face almost enough to break my jaw. “But however bad you think this is going to be? It’s going to be so. Much. Worse.” **UNEDITED AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE**     10563485_1473505436227113_1528489458_n

Book Review- Love, In English by Karina Halle

"There is nothing wrong with wanting to be happy and believing you deserve to be happy."

Brilliant, heartfelt, and breath taking....is a few words that describe this book. I have not cried so hard while reading in such a long time. I was taken to a place so real, I could feel the characters emotions as if they were my own.

Vera Miles is a 23 Canadian student studying astronomy.  Although she is a private person emotionally she is a not one to ever be alone. She likes sex, parties and trying new things which is why she ends up in Spain.

After joining a program where all she has to do is speak English all day long she meets a bunch of new people. Las Palabras, the place where Vera's life changes. She has never been close with her family at home aside from her brother so she didn't expect to feel the closeness she does with these new people in her life.

"You bond with people here, like you never would otherwise. They become your life, your...universe."

There is one person in particular that she felt an instant connection with. Mateo Cassalles, 38, and married....yup, married. Oh Mateo, he was just perfect in his own way. He and Vera have a special bond between them. I think I feel just as hard for Mateo as Vera did...he was amazing.

"I was angry at how unfair life was, how it could present me a man that I felt a deep-souled connection to, but could never have him be fully available to me."

A month at Las Palabras changed Vera's life forever. I have never felt as much heartache for a character as I did for Vera. She broke me. I couldn't deal with it. The amount of love she had for Mateo and how much he cared for her was beyond words. They were meant to be but it was not their time....

This was such a great read. Mateo was such a strong character. He had such faith in Vera and his new universe. His love for his daughter, his love for Vera, his ability to do what is right for everyone. The situations that Vera put him through, throughout the entire book and he still kept faith...he knew while everyone else didn't. He made me feel like maybe, just maybe there is an amazing person out there even after you think your life is settled. He gives you hope.
PLEASE read this book. I promise you wont be disappointed. Karina Halle never fails to give you the best stories.

Fashionably Dead Down Under by Robyn Peterman

5 Stars!!

Another amazingly awesome hilarious read by Robyn Peterman.  Her writing is so easy and fun to read and I from now on will read every single book she ever writes.

Fashionably Dead Down Under is book 2 in the series so I highly recommend you read the first book before this or you will be completely confused.  It continues right where book 1 left off and this book was so flippin funny!!!

Astrid is seriously one kick ass girl well vampyre.  If you really liked her in the first book, she will blow your mind with this one. Her unfiltered mouth is the best thing in the world!! Who in their right mind would ever talk back to Satan or better yet call him and God a pansy ass? Yea, see, she is awesome!

I won’t talk too much about this since it is the second book in the series and I don’t want to spoil a single thing for anyone. This was full of new characters from the seven deadly sins, Hell Hounds that talk with their eyebrows (hilarious), God, to Mr. FREAKING ROGERS!!! There is our old favorites too which include Astrid (of course), Ethan and the adorably hilarious boob loving baby demons. The connection you feel with all these characters blew my mind. By the end of the book I felt as if I have known Astrid my entire life.

I love the way the author writes.  Everything flows perfectly and there is never a dull moment. I am a HUGE fan of this author. She has made me fall in love with paranormal all over again. I can’t wait for the next book and to start her other series as well.

This series is a must must read! I love it and the author just informed me that book 3 Hell on Heels will be out in August and it will be Dixie’s story. The first book is still FREE on Amazon so there is no reason you cant give this a try. LOVED this one even more than the first so give it a try!!!!

Upcoming Reads

This is a list a few books I am really looking forward to reading!!

Cop a Feel by Robyn Peterman

Synopsis:
"  When you get time off for bad behavior, romance is the last thing on your mind--but good old-fashioned lust is a whole different story. . .

Life undercover isn't exactly one big party--not when you're a DEA agent--but it sure beats a desk job. Except when you screw up big and someone has to go in and clean up after you. In that case, even paper-pushing sounds better than babysitting an erotic romance writer with as many enemies as there are euphemisms for "throbbing manhood."

I've been taking down drug dealers for so long, playing bodyguard to a woman named Shoshanna Lehump sounds like nothing more than a giant pain in my ass-- and being partnered with the gorgeous egotistical jerk I never should have slept with in the first place just makes a bad situation even harder--especially when he pursues me as diligently as we're supposed to be chasing the bad guys...What's a girl have to do to get a happy ending anyway?  "

Dead in Bed by Bailey Simms

Synopsis:

"   The hyper-talented Bailey Simms delivers a tour-de-force series that's as emotionally incisive as it is shockingly sexy, as heartbreaking as it is hilarious, and as hard to put down as books by writers twice her age.

Dead in Bed follows Ashley, a vivacious young woman who is stuck in an unsatisfying marriage and a dead-end job. But when a sexually-transmitted plague breaks out in her small town, slowly transforming everyone infected into crazed sex fiends, everything about her life changes.

Facing quarantine, National Guard barricades, the onset of winter, and a rapidly-spreading plague, Ashley, her family, her friends, and everyone else in her small Colorado town find their true feelings for one another surfacing—both amorously and violently.

When everyone in Ashley's life begins taking comfort in one another's arms, no one really knows who's infected with the plague and who's not. And because the disease perpetuates itself as an aphrodisiac, sex, the very thing that offers comfort, only contributes to spreading the plague.

In a crumbling world with little to lose, however, Ashley begins to discover a desire to live she didn't know she possessed and opportunities she's never had. Her newly-acquired agency may come at a price, however, when Ashley ultimately must choose between her own survival and the people she loves.   "

Doesn't that sound so different and interesting!!! Cant wait to start this one!

Closing In by Sue Fortin

Synopsis:

"  Helen has had to leave everything she’s ever known behind; her home, her family, even her own name.

Now, returning to the UK as Ellen Newman, she moves to a small coastal village, working as a nanny for Donovan, a criminal psychologist. Attractive, caring and protective, this single father and his sweet daughter are a world away from Ellen’s brutal past. She thinks she’s escaped. She thinks she’s safe.

But Ellen can’t shake the feeling that something’s wrong.

Strange incidents begin to plague her new family, and their house of calm is about to become one of suspicion and fear. Who can be trusted? Who is the target? Who is closing in?  "

Queen of Broken Hearts by Jennifer Recchio

Synopsis:

"  Con artist is a little too strong a descriptor for Birdie Anders. She prefers the term "Fabrication Specialist."

Taking over her high school was easy for a girl whose mother fabricated her way into becoming a Hollywood movie star. Now Birdie just has to keep her minions under control while maintaining her perfect image. Oh, and make sure no one digs up her criminal record.

Things are about to get less than perfectly boring.

The criminal-record-inducing love-of-her-life is back in town, and he's determined to crash her life into the un-sparkly rocks.

Losing is for losers.

Birdie isn't about to lose everything she's fought for to a boy. She needs to execute the ultimate take down before her crown gets lost in the scuffle. But the real problem might be keeping her traitorous heart from getting in the way  "

Hush by Stacey R. Campbell

Synopsis:

"  For small-town girl Blakely Henry, any hope of finding her biological parents died when she stopped believing in fairy tales and Disney princesses. That is, until she spots her boarding school’s new British exchange student, Max Ryder, staring at her.

Why would a boy who looks like he stepped out of the pages of a magazine be looking at her?

Because Max knows something Blakely doesn’t.

Following the tragic demise of one of Europe’s most beloved royal families, Max has stumbled upon information he thinks may lead to a lost royal heir, and now he is on a quest halfway around the world to see if he’s right.

Sworn to secrecy by his university professor and the headmaster of Lakeview Academy, Max is admitted into an exchange program with the sole purpose of finding out the truth. But will his personal feelings for Blakely get in the way?
When a stolen email surfaces, Blakely and her friends’ lives are threatened, and Max starts to question what he is really after.

From the exclusive rolling lawns of Canada’s most prestigious boarding school to the University of Saint Andrews’ hallowed grounds, Blakely’s quiet, unassuming life is turned upside down. Is she really who she thinks she is? Can she survive long enough to help Max unearth the truth?  "

Fashionably Dead by Robyn Peterman Review

FREE on Amazon

Let me start with saying that I don’t know where to start with this review. Yea, that good! Ok, so I guess I will start by saying I came across this book on amazon on the top free list. It had a cute cartoon cover and thought I will at some point read it….well, let me tell you, I am so happy I started in almost immediately. I loved it.

I moved away from Paranormal Romance a while ago. Not that I don’t like them I just prefer the stories that make me say in my head “please happen to me someday”. Not only did this book blow every paranormal romance out of the water, it was the first book in months that kept me up into the wee hours of the morning. That means it had to be something amazing considering nothing usually gets in the way of my sleep time considering I have three little boys that keep me B-U-S-Y.

So now, about the book. Astrid (never thought I would love this name) is a 29 year old normal Kentucky girl with an obsessed with Prada. I loved her. She instantly from page 1 was someone I totally knew I would love. She wasn’t one of those wimpy, take crap from everyone, push over that most books make us girls….come on, some of us are some seriously kick ass women. She grew up with a mother that was a total B**** (notice the capital b), a daddy she knew nothing about and a serious case of commitment phobia thanks to her mommy issue. At least she had her awesome Nana….until she just recently passed.

Knowing that her Nana would want her to do something with her life, she decided to change herself for the better….quit smoking was on the top of the list. Who knew that would change her world COMPLETELY. Waking up a Vampyre was not on her list of things to do when she had that thought.

Astrid is immediately thrown into a world of vampyres, demons, angels and fairies. Holy crap, I loved this book.

A foul mouthed angel who looks identical to Oprah, a Fairy who is the definite doppelganger to the Terminator and has the worst fashion sense in the universe take Astrid under their wings (no pun intended).

There are rogue vampyres on the loose, a drop dead gorgeous Prince (again, no pun intended, it just keeps happening) who is completely convinced Astrid is his, an attraction to another gorgeous Vamp and tiny demon babies on her ceiling, this girl is in for a crazy ride. This story has SO many twists and turns. It was so awesome how every detail in this book ties together and as you read you find yourself saying “omg, what, seriously? AWESOME!” really I said that about a million times.

Every character in this part has a certain importance. While Astrid is definitely the main character in this story, the side characters end up have multiple reasons for being there and OMG my mind is starting to get all hyper thinking about how awesome this author is. I have never read anything that has so many different stories in one that all turn into the same thing…SEE, hyper brain is happening.

This book is absolutely hilarious. The things that come out of Astrid mouth are so freaking funny. The banter between characters, the little things like the game Clue. Ah, hilarious. This is also one seriously hot book. There were a few parts where I considered walking outside my house and straight into my freezing cold lake…that hot.

I am super excited that there is also a book 2 in the series. Fashionably Dead Down Under. The author was amazing and gave me the book as a gift and it will definitely be read right when I am down with this review. A-MAZING!! 5++ STARS!!!

Highly recommend this book to every single being in the universe (yes, I meant that to be strange) I don’t care what kind books you like to read…READ THIS. Right now it is free so NO EXCUSES!!!!
